Gift Day Appeal

  • There has been a church on this site for over 1300 years, serving the community
  • Parts of the present building date from the 12th Century
  • The fact that the building is here today is a result of former generations maintaining and improving it fabric and structure

Now, it is our turn to care for and maintain the building.

A recent architect’s inspection has identified the following repairs that need to be addressed as soon as possible.

  • Re-leading the tower roof
  • Repairing the masonry on the tower
  • Repairing a large crack in the brickwork at the east end of the nave
  • Upgrading the heating system
  • Repairs to the stained glass and masonry of the east window
  • Repairs to the clerestory windows
  • Internal redecoration

We need your help now

Initially, we must raise £145,000 in order to implement the most urgent repairs. So far, we have achieved £65,000, leaving a shortfall of £80,000. This gift day is part of our find-raising strategy.

Will you help?

Come along to the Gift Day on 8th September and have a look at the Well Dressing and displays in church showing what we do at St Chad’s.

We look forward to meeting you at some stage over the weekend.
